TheUrological Research Institute was honored to win a major grant this year from the AIRC Foundation for a 5-year study in the area of kidney cancer. The study, entitled "Targeted decision making In Renal Cell Carcinoma relying on a Radiogenomics Translational platform" (Project leader Dr. Umberto Capitanio) was selected under the funding called IG ("Investigator Grant") which are among the most prestigious to be obtained in scientific research.Â
The goal of the study is to be able to well characterize kidney cancer at the time of diagnosis by taking advantage of a combined approach of experimental radiology and using biomarkers.
